Audrey’s teaching philosophy is ‘to facilitate learners to maximise their learning’; to employ interactive, participative and collaborative strategies based in constructivism and to facilitate learners as they engage in reflective learning and critical thinking leading to ‘metacognition’ (Biggs and Tang, 2011). She believes in the holistic development of the child and in the promotion of teacher well-being; through the development of professional relationship skills, social skills and leadership skills by young and aspiring teachers.
She has 35 years primary teaching experience; having worked as a teacher and in management roles in primary schools and in a special school. She has been involved in teacher training, in-service and pre-service, for over 20 years. Her areas of special interest are: Relationships and Sexuality Education, Social, Personal and Health Education, Personal and Professional Development, Child Protection and Education of Students with General Learning Disabilities.
Audrey teaches Personal and Professional Development, Child Protection and some elements of Special Education. She is the Learner Support Officer. In this role she supports learners who are experiencing difficulties, that are affecting or are likely to affect their learning. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Lincoln.
